Social Media Club Atlanta presents “Late Night with Social Media – Season 1, Episode 2″

Our Late Night Guest Host: Dorothéa Bozicolona-Volpe of Social Espionage!

This month, our Late Night host will be joined by: 

  • Jason Prance – Director, Strategy at The Swarm Agency
  • Kimberly Beaudin – VP, Marketing and Communications at College Football Hall of Fame

Our guests will be discussing crisis, controversy, and protecting your brand.

Jason Prance – Director, Strategy at The Swarm Agency  

Jason will share his experience of working with GLOCK Firearms and controversial brands from an agency standpoint. Jason will introduce the perceptions and misperceptions of working in the firearms industry and how to overcome and combat negativity with positivity and the “why” of making a difference at GLOCK. Jason will also share his thoughts on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), PR and campaigns that he’s worked on with GLOCK and the potential pushback that could erupt when promoting via social media

Kimberly Beaudin – VP, Marketing and Communications at College Football Hall of Fame  

Kimberly will share how she leveraged her past experience at Arrow Exterminators where she extinguished a crisis situation where impersonation and scandal on Facebook was causing brand damage to create a proactive crisis management plan. She will present the Arrow case study, and additional lessons learned that can be immediately applied to any brand that wants to be prepared for potential social media crisis.

Keely Herrick – IP Attorney at Parks Wood, LLC  

Keely will present a short intro to the potential trademark and copyright issues you may face as you use social media in a professional capacity. Whether you are interested in learning how to protect your own brands and businesses or how to avoid stepping on someone else’s toes, this should be a good conversation.

 

The Late Night “Guess Who???” #SocialMediaFail Edition: 

Joins us for a fun game in which teams will compete to match the correct #SocialMediaFail with the correct brand or company!

 

About our host:

Dorothéa Bozicolona-Volpe was born in New York City to French and Italian parents. Her Father’s passing caused her family to move to Europe where she became somewhat of a nomad. She has lived in Italy, France, Germany, Japan, Sweden, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Dorothéa is a strategic digital marketing executive who is fluent in 4 languages and specializes in developing business for international brands (Fortune 500) via initiating and integrating social media and digital strategies and enterprise social networking, as well as, building strategic partnerships and implementing marketing technologies. Additionally, Dorothéa has appeared as a social media strategy subject matter expert on CBS and CNN’s Ali Velshi show.

Kimberly Beaudin – VP, Marketing and Communications at College Football Hall of Fame:  As Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Kimberly Beaudin leads all advertising, promotional, branding and public relations efforts for the College Football Hall of Fame and Chick-fil-A Fan Experience. The newest addition to the Hall leadership team, Beaudin served most recently as Vice President of Marketing for Atlanta-based Arrow Exterminators. Prior to her tenure at Arrow, Kimberly led the marketing and branding efforts for both the Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Thrashers serving as their Director of Marketing where she was instrumental in the development of two well-regarded campaigns – Blueland and The Highlight Factory.  Beaudin began her career with Turner Broadcasting holding several positions including Director of the CNN Studio Tour. Originally from Florida, Kimberly holds a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Central Florida, however, she is an Atlantan at heart having lived here for over 20 years.

Keely Herrick – IP Attorney at Parks Wood, LLC:  Keely Herrick is an intellectual property attorney and freelance writer. Her legal practice focuses primarily on protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, including domestic and global trademark prosecution, trademark infringement matters, clearance, licensing, and domain name disputes. She is on the board of Georgia Lawyers for the Arts and the Actor’s Express theater company, and she regularly writes articles regarding theater, dance, and other entertainment events in Atlanta for Creative Loafing and other publications. She attended New York University for college and law school and worked at Katten Muchin Rosenman in New York for eight years before returning to her hometown of Atlanta and joining a boutique intellectual property firm.

Jason Prance, Director of Strategy at Swarm Agency:  Jason Prance is a proud geek dad, lucky husband, entrepreneur and the Internet’s biggest fan since 1993. After 10 years of the startup world, Jason helped generate over a half-billion dollars in revenue launching multiple e-commerce brands online.
